<p>I have a much better solution which I recommend to everyone. I
myself am now fully paperless since the start of this financial
year in April 2012. I use a Canon P-215 which works well and the
Evernote app on the iPhone to snap small receipts such as post
office and travel tickets that don't scan so well.</p>

<p>The iPhone app can also attach photos to the entries, but I
don't recommend this to anyone new to the app because the photos
are not backed up as part of the financial data and are only
available to iTunes when plugged in with a cable. Now iOS works
without the need to connect to a computer this is not such a good
solution.</p>
<p>I really like the Evernote app, photographing in document mode
means it strips away the background leaving the receipt as if it
were scanned.</p>
