Customising invoices - how do I add a quantity field?
Hello,
I am currently using Easy Books for Mac and iOS on trial and so far I am tempted to purchase most of the add ons. The one thing holding me back at the moment is I can't work out how to add a 'quantity' field to an invoice. I've found the 'Show field editor' and how to edit field labels (including 'quantity') but see no option when creating the invoice to actually include this. I'd like my invoices to look something like the png attached.
If it's possible to customise my invoice in this way I'll definitely be purchasing so I am hoping you can help.
Many thanks in advance,
Kind regards,
Ed Osborne

Hi Ed,
Thanks for getting in touch, and thanks for trying out the app(s). Since you mentioned you were looking at iOS and Mac together I thought I'd make sure you were aware of how the apps are priced. The iOS and Mac apps are fully compatible with each other and can both use the Online Sync system. But in order to keep the prices as low as I can for small businesses that are just starting out, the two apps are priced separately. Full pricing information is on the pricing page on the web site at https://easybooksapp.com/pricing.
The Quantity field is hidden by the app if you're not selling a product, which could be either a stock or service product. From the screenshot you sent I would suggest creating a service product called "Piano Lessons" with a standard selling price of 12.50. Then when you create a new sale, choose the product instead of just an income account in the "Account 2" field. The Qty and Price Each fields both appear when you do this, so you could then set the Qty to 3. The columns then appear on the invoice PDF too, which you could send direct to your customers.
I hope that answers all your questions, and I hope you like using Easy Books!
All the best,
Mathew

Hi Matthew,
Many thanks for replying so quickly and resolving my issue.
I've previously not used other accounting software as I have found it all a bit confusing or too complicated but Easy Books does exactly what it says on the tin!
I'll be purchasing the Sync add on and unlimited transactions - and recommending to friends ;)
Many thanks again.
Kind regards,
Ed Osborne
