Vehicle restoration use
I restore old cars and need a way to list the car and then the parts as I get them as well as keep up with the hours spent working on it so when I am finished the car will have the vehicle cost, parts, and labor so that when I sell it I have all my cost involved in it. Then I can create a customer for the sell, but the most important thing for me is keeping up with my cost on each car I restore.

If you want to keep costs accounted for on each car, I don't know if you're actually adding asset value or expenses. I suppose it would depend on the thing you're buying.
You could create an expense account for each car I suppose. That might work.
