Opening Balance

I have set the opening balance for each account but they do not transfer over to statements and therefore my first statement that I have created for each account starts with a nil balance. have i missed a preference somewhere?

   No, this is designed to work that way. You can edit the opening balance in the statement by clicking on it and set it to match the opening balance of the statement. I will have to make this field more obviously editable, so I'll add that to the list of things to do next week.
