report saved as CSV formate error
I was trying to save a report by CSV file in Mac OS X app. However, it only works for HMTL format instead of CSV file. Even I chose CSV, the export file still shows as a HMTL file.
Is it normal?

Hi Howard
I just tried this to save a Profit and Loss report, clicked the Format button at the bottom of the Save As screen, changed it to CSV and saved it to the desktop. A .csv file was saved correctly, and I then opened it in Numbers for formatting. All worked as expected so I'm not sure what is happening here.
Take care
Al

I restart my Mac Pro (OS X 10.7.3), run the report, click Save, then select formate pop down menu "CSV" or "ZIP", both not working, only "HMTL" files are saved though I select CSV or ZIP.
Do I have to purchase Add On for saving into CSV file?
Thanks

Thats strange, could you check that when you select CSV, the file extension in the save panel does change to CSV? If not, would you change it to CSV manually and click save. See if that helps and let me know.

I checked when I selected CSV, the file has no extension in the save panel, only the pop down menu "Format" shows CSV, but I click Save, it only turns out be a html file.
see attached screen shot file.

my Macbook Pro is a i5 2.3GHz, OS X 10.7.3, the Mac App just upgraded to 1.3.3
The iPhone app runs correct, can either export email by CSV and iTunes share CSV, but Macbook can't save it as a CSV file now.
thanks

Would you try some things for me please? Would you type the filename out as test.csv and see if that works? Also, if you don't mind would you change your Finder preferences (in the advanced tab) to always show the file extension and see whether the .csv does appear when you change the format?
Thanks,
Mathew

Hi, Mathew,
Thanks for your advice! If I type manually for the file extension as ".CSV", then it works!!!
So, I am glad this discussion can be marked as Solved.
FYI why mac app report speed seems slower than iPhone app? (my iPhone is just a iPhone 4)?
