part payments
ok ... i have an energy bill that has 3 monthly payments on it but with a balance outstanding to be carried forward. if i create a new purchase and then go to pay that bill, the app sees the whole bill as paid in full even when selecting the amount to pay as 50% for example .
so do i not use the pay bill function and just do transfers from the prepayment account to the energy account with will show a balance outstanding and not bother with creating a new purchase record.

We have an issue with part payments too. In our case, customer pays advance and balance after supply of material. How to resolve this issue??

Do you pay by direct debit? If so, just I would keep it simple and just create an entry as a payment (from bank account to an expense account such as "Gas & Electric"). Set this to be a recurring payment and Easy Books will create a new one each month for you. You could then leave it alone until your energy company change the monthly payment and just edit the Easy Books entry to match.
Alternatively, if you want to treat them as a supplier in EB, you will be better off creating each payment as a transaction rather than as a "make payment" because this feature is for paying in full as you've already discovered. You can cater for part payments this way, and I find it easy to bring up the last payment, duplicate it and save it as the next payment. If you want to maintain a list of ticked sales and purchases, you can use the "add a tick" option once you know it's completely paid. This just adds the tick on the screen.
I'm going to be doing some work on the "make payment", "receive payment" options to add support for partial payments in the future. I hope it will make this sort of thing easier without adding too much complexity into the app. I may simply allow more payments to be added if the payment value has not reached the original sale value, but it will need some thought about how the UI can be made simple, especially when navigating between sales and payments.
I hope that helps,
Mathew
