Syncing of "payments received/made" on iphone/Mac
Hello Easy Books, I wonder if you can help me.
I have the syncing add on for my iPhone/Mac. Everything syncs, with one exception....payments received.
If I enter a payment received on my Mac, it doesn't update that on my iphone, and vice versa. I constantly have to back up and then restore from an email link the other device so they match.
Am I supposed to enter it twice, once each on both devices? I don't get it, because if I just tick that it's paid, that auto syncs. Obviously I can't just do that as my balance sheet is out if I don't have the payment correctly made on both devices.
It was the whole reason why I wanted the syncing and chose Easy Books. I don't want to have one device showing incorrect accounts, unless I manually back up and restore after every single payment. I also assumed that paying for the auto sync facility would negate the need to have to enter everything twice, once each on both devices.
What am I doing wrong? Surely it should work.

Hmm........another issue I've now noticed is no syncing of invoices created on iphone yesterday to my Mac. That's a new issue, so clearly relates to me doing the update yesterday afternoon from the Mac App Store.
Crikey. It's going to get very confusing before long to know which of my systems, if any, are the correct one as I don't always use my phone or mac....hence the very need for a system that synced in the first place.

Hi Claire,
If you restore from backup, this puts the business in a standalone mode, and it no longer syncs with the system. I've had a look at your account and I can see the first upload was on 8 November from your iPhone. The latest change on the system is 11 November at 06:54 GMT where you created sale INV00081. There doesn't look to be anything wrong with the data there, but I wonder if you've been making changes on the iPhone or Mac with the syncing setting turned off?
You're right that it should just work, that's my attitude too. Here's what I would suggest doing to get it working.
Avoid doing manual restores, unless you intend to re-sync from that older backup. I would however advise doing backups every so often, and maybe I'm just a bit over the top in this regard since you already have a copy of your business on the iPhone, Mac and online but there you go.
Pick a device that has the most information and use that to re-sync. Assuming it's the iPhone, go to the sync screen and turn off syncing if it shows as on. Then turn it on and choose "re-upload" when asked. This will overwrite the online copy with whatever you have on the phone. Next on the Mac, repeat the process; turn off syncing if you see it on, and turn it back on. Choose the "re-download" option when asked because you'll want to replace the copy on the Mac with the online copy you uploaded from the iPhone.
That should be it, and everything you change on one device should be uploaded to the system when you have a network connection available. Obviously without a WiFi or 3G it isn't going to be possible for the iPhone to send changes, but it will send them the next time it can connect.
Run a few tests and let me know how you get on.

Oh, and I forgot to mention that I've added my iMac to your syncing account for now, just so I can help if you need me to. If you do need help please let me know quickly as I'm going to remove this data from my computer soon.

Thanks Matthew
I'm out walking dogs at the moment so have asked it to sync the snapshot from my phone to the online server.
I'll add a new payment in a minute and see if that auto syncs to your iMac
Thank you for your reply. I love using it. First did a restore when I cocked up entering a liability :-)
