I am having the above problem making it ususable - this is really frustrating please can you let me know what I can do. It has happened since I just installed the lastest update today as prompted.

Exactly the same thing here - it worked before the update and now doesn't work at all. The second the + button is pressed, it crashes.

Can you let me know whether this is on a particular screen; like the Sales screen?
Does it crash as soon as you click the + button or when you click Save?

Oh, and can you let me know if this is running on Lion or Mountain Lion please?

I only use the "Accounts" page and it does it on any sub-account there: bank accounts, indirect expenses etc. It's the second you press the + button: you can't enter anything without it crashing.

    I'm on 10.7.5 - which I think is Lion?

Thanks Peter, we only tested the release on Mountain Lion this time because we thought we'd made just a small set of changes. It could be a Lion-specific problem: I'll check on it and let you know.

Yes, this is a Lion specific issue. Just in case you're interested in the deep down technical details, it's caused by internally referencing the main window using a "weak" reference, which was introduced in Lion and expanded in Mountain Lion.

We'll get this out to you in the next hour. Perhaps if you don't mind could you let me know if it resolves the problem for you?

    Thanks Peter.

Like they say: if you're disappointed, let us know. If you're not, tell your friends ;)

The update is available now, you should just need to open Easy Books and wait for it to check for updates.

Thanks to both of you for reporting it, we wouldn't have found the problem ourselves and would have had lots of disappointed users.

I've got a good regular readership on my blog (370,000 hits in 2 years) and 4500 followers on Twitter.

I'd like to blog this, but I've cheekily used your logo as an image. It looks a bit plain without it. Could you let me know if that's okay? If not I'll change it to a stock image of some £ signs or something similar.

    Once again, thanks

That's so nice of you to write a blog post, thank you very much. Absolutely fine by me if you want to use the logo.

I don't know if it would help you at all, and I don't know what your business is, but if you'd like to write a quick case study I'll put it online with the others at http://easybooksapp.com/case-studies. The site gets around 30k pageviews/month and it might help you depending on what your business is. The offer's there if you want it.

That's v kind - we're developing a 68 bedroom farm spa retreat and are about 2 years off actually marketing any product, so it probably wouldn't help too much. I just use the accounts for expenditure on the building and moved over when an ancient version of Quicken stopped working with the Lion upgrade. I'm glad I did though: it's a very good product you've developed.

All the best and thanks once more

    Peter
