We have f our devices 2 iPhones, one ipad 2 and one ipad 3. The ipad 2 is crashing but the others are not. I read the June 21 information and turned the WIFI off to see if it would load but that did not work either. The March 1st update was done but this happened before the update. Please help.

    Hi Tom,

Do you see anything of the app appear before the crash, so for example, can you scroll the list of accounts up and down before it happens?

Try turning the whole device off and back on (or if you understand how to quit an app running in the background try that instead).

Apart from that, I'll have a look and see where the iPad stores its crash logs and see if I can direct you there. Maybe there's something in there that could act as a clue.

If you deleted the app and re-installed it, would you lose any data you haven't got somewhere else? Just in case we can't get to the bottom of it. I assume you have a backup or copy of your books on the other devices.

    Hi Tom,

I'm sure deleting the app and restoring from a backup will get it going again, but I wonder if you wouldn't mind helping me figure out the cause? Completely up to you of course and I understand you're probably busy with other things. Just let me know if you'd rather not.

I'd like you to connect the iPad to iTunes, then manually backup (see attached screenshot).

Next I'm going to assume you're using a Mac. If not, then there are other programs out there, but I'm not familiar with them myself. The program I'm thinking of is called "iPhone backup extractor" from http://supercrazyawesome.com. After the backup has completed, run the app click the button "Read backups". You should see the backups dated, so pick the most recent one. You should then see the main window again with all the names of your installed apps, but they'll look a little strange. For example, instead of "Google Maps" you'll see "com.google.maps". In the same style, Easy Books is called "uk.co.geode.iDEA". Find it in the list, select it and click the button "Extract". The Desktop might be the best place to store the backup and it should create a folder there with the app full name. Would you be able to compress the folder into a zip file and send it over please? If so, I think I should be able to recreate the problem here and get to work on a fix before anyone else experiences it.

    Thanks in advance,
    Mathew

Sorry, Matthew, we are not to swift with the computer. I should have deleted the app and re-installed before contacting you. Sometimes we just panic.

I do appreciate that you want to work all issue so quickly. We are up and running again.
