Hi

I have a quick question, I need to reset my iPad as I have lost the passcode for my in app restrictions (which in need switched off!) and I need to reset my iPad to reset the restrictions to off, if I reset my iPad will I loose my data from easy books, or can I just restore it from iTunes as if its going onto a new iPad?

Many thanks in advance for your advice!

Kind Regards

    Hi Claire,

    Good question!

I think you would be back to square one, because restoring from iTunes would mean your restriction code would be back in place I think.

I assume the app runs fine right now though, so I would start Easy Books, then go to Settings and use the manual backup. Send the backup file to yourself by email, or if you have the Dropbox app install you could pass the file over to your Dropbox account. See http://easybooksapp.com/backup-and-restore for more information.

Once you have a backup file stored somewhere (off the iPad) you should be fine to restore the device to its default settings. You can then re-install Easy Books, restore your past purchases if you made any and restore from the backup.

You might also consider our online backup service (https://sync.easybooksapp.com). If you haven't registered for an account, you could do this now and upload a copy of your business(es).

All the best, I hope it goes well,
    Mathew
