Stephane Riou sent a message using the contact form at
http://geode.co.uk/contact.

Hi,

I use Easy Books since a few days and I have a problem. I'm in France and the
VAT is 19,60%. My computer give me the total including VAT and I saw that we
can use a calculator to write the number in the account but this calculator
is limited at 2 digits and I can't do transaction with VAT divide by 1,196
for having my transaction Ex-VAT. Is there a possibility having 3 digits on
the calculator or a comma for separate manually the number ?

Thank you

Stephane

    Hi Stephane,

    Thanks for the email.

You can set the VAT rate to 19.60% in the business settings. This should make it a lot easier for you because Easy Books will calculate the VAT amount for you rather than you doing it yourself using the calculator.

If you're unsure about how to set up VAT rates, follow the link from the article:

    Hi,

I set the VAT rate to 19,60% but I receive my amounts with VAT from my software, so I need to calculate the amount without VAT to put it in Easy Books who calculate VAT from the number without VAT. That's why it was wonderful to calculate directly from EB the good value I need write with the calculator

    Thank you

    Stéphane

I see your point. So you want to enter a figure that is including the VAT,
and have Easy Books work out the VAT content for you?

You can do that by using the action button at the bottom of the entry
screen. This is the button next to the +, and looks like a box with an arrow
coming out of the top. This gives some options, one of which is to "Show
incl-VAT". This might be what you're after.

We only have the online guide at the moment, and I'd like to get the Mac
version developed as quickly as possible, otherwise I would spend some
effort building the PDF. I should get it done in a few months, it's just a
    question of time available!
