Sync and backup
Hi There.
I will be starting a new small business in a months time, and wanted to get my books up and running. I previously used Quickbooks, but since I have an iPad and an iPhone, I would like to use your app, which looks great.
Since I am on a limited budget, I will be purchasing the unlimited transactions and the invoicing add-ons, but I wanted to know if I can stat without the online sync. Will I be able to backup my data on my PC through iTunes, and if so, will I be able to "sync" the iPad and iPhone this way. I am sure in time, I will subscribe to the online sync - just want to keep my expenses to an absolute minimum to start......
Many Thanks.

I quite understand, it was the same for me when I started this business too.
You don't need online sync to use Easy Books. You mention an iPhone and iPad. Can I assume your iPad is the main device that you'll use for Easy Books? I assume you would prefer the ability to at least view the accounts on the other device (the iPhone). You can then simply add and edit on the iPad and make a backup every so often. I'd suggest weekly backups and the app will remind you. Just transfer the backup file (by email or by Dropbox/Evernote) to your iPhone. Open it and you'll see the same information.
Just remember not to make changes on the iPhone. Or if you do, keep in mind that you'll need to reverse the process; I mean make a backup on the iPhone and move it to the iPad.
Note also that you can't make changes on both devices at once, because the backup and restore will replace the information with whatever is in the backup. The Online Sync system is different and will merge changes as you make them, meaning you don't need to think about it anymore.
All the best,
Mathew
