attaching invoices
Evening I have a very annoying problem, when sending an invoice direct from the app, sometimes it attaches the PDF and sometimes it doesn't. it appears to work fine when i delete the customers email address and replace it with my own as a test and then when i go to said it again (to the customer) it doesn't have an attachment.
many Thanks
Patrik

Have your customers had trouble opening the attachment? If so could you ask them to forward what they received from you over to me please and I'll have a look.

Thanks for the copy of the invoice. I can see the file Invoice_149.pdf and it opens fine here with a total amount £215.04.
There were some changes to the email process, see http://easybooksapp.com/blog/media-types-for-pdf-attachments.
Was this sent using the colour Mail icon or the grey one (bottom row)?

The grey icon,

Try the colour one and see if that's received okay on your customer's machine (if they don't mind working with you to check that is).
Please let me know, it's all useful information for me.

Hi Matthew,
The problem appears to manifest itself when I use my [email blocked] – which is a service hosted by godaddy. When I use my [email blocked] it works fine – this is hosted by Microsoft.
Any ideas why I have a problem with the godaddy email – which is my work one.
Cheers
Patrik

Is this with the colour Mail button or the other one?

Both, tested both buttons – with different invoices – one invoice worked the most recent one and the others didn’t attach.

I’ve just checked my Ipad and they are all there – on my PC they are not! Now I’m getting really confused!

You're not the only one! Everything I test works fine for me. I've spent the morning testing again using an HTML signature as I wondered if that might be an issue.
Can you reproduce the problem reliably there? It sounds like you can.
I guess I could sign up for a GoDaddy email account and see if there's a difference somewhere. Do you use an email signature on the Godaddy account that's different from the other one? If so, is it rich text/html or plain text? And lastly if you're using html please could you repeat your test with no signature (go to iPad settings and remove the signature - or rather copy it, delete it and paste it somewhere else like Notes for later).
I'm hoping to get to the bottom of this for you but it's got me beat at the moment,
Mathew

Hi Matthew,
You cracked it!! It was a signature on the ipad that wasn’t working properly. Once I removed the signature it worked fine in both grey and coloured button.
Add the dodge signature (image) back in and it didn’t attach.
Many Thanks
Patrik

Hi Patrik,
Oh great! I can't stress enough how pleased to got back to me, that is brilliant if that's what the problem is. I've spent such a long time trying to find why some people are having trouble and this could well be it.
I'll try that later today, but first a quick question: how did you get the dodgy signature in there with an image?
13 Posted by tpn on Dec 14, 2013 @ 07:58 PM
Hi Matthew,
I tried to copy my signature from my outlook to my ipad as an image. It didn't really work but I didn't realise it was still there, It looks like a small square in the top line of the signature in the ipad mail settings. When I'm back in the office I'll try and send you a little more info.
Cheers
Patrik

Evening Matthew,
I’ll tried and send you more details but I tried to cut and paste my signature from outlook signature into my ipad email signature.
I emailed myself, opened it on the ipad – cut the image and pasted it into the email signature box on the ipad mail settings. I was looking for a method of making my emails identical when sent from my Ipad and office PC.
It didn’t work but hadn’t caused me any problems until I realised that it was stopping easy books from attaching the invoice. Since I removed the signature I’ve had no problems.
Many Thanks
Patrik
