Hi. I sent my accountant an invite to share so he can access my 2013 (Jan to Dec) data. They can only download as far as July 2013. Could you please advise how they can access and print the whole year so they can get on with my accounts? Please copy answer to [email blocked]
Regards and thanks
J Kennedy

    Hi there,

    I can certainly help.

I see you've shared the business with Ronan, and I've checked there is data dated after July 2013. The latest transaction is 11 Feb 2014.

It could be that Ronan has a copy of your business already on the device. If that's the case I don't think the device risks overwriting the local copy. He should delete the business from his device, then try to add a new business. He will then see your business listed as available to be added to his device.

Ronan, I'd advise making a backup copy of your locally stored business if you think you might need it again.

I am now deleting my local copies of your data.

I hope that helps, if either of you have any questions or concerns let me know.

    Hi Mathew,

I did try deleting the business before I got on to Seamus and again after you recommend it. When I choose to set up a new business I get two options in the drop down menu, the first is what appears to be the old file, and the second is the new file, or what I assume is the new file as it has “you have been invited” appended to the filename. My problem appears to be that both these options are ticked and I cannot choose one to the other. When I run the setup and sync I keep getting the old version.

I must be doing something wrong but I can’t see what it is, the process does appear to be very simple.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Kind Regards

    Ronan

Ah, thanks Ronan I think I know what the problem is now. You probably have that business already in your own sync account. If you uploaded it previously it will be.

Each business in Easy Books is given a unique identity when you first create it. From then on the identity is used to identify that business, even if two businesses have the same name. So what's happening here is that when your device asks to download the business (by it's ID) the sync server finds it linked to your sync account and offers that one to you.

Ronan, I recommend signing in to your sync account and clicking on the Businesses tab. Then if you have the same business in your list, delete it by clicking on it followed by the delete button. Once again, if you think you might need to return to this copy please download a copy first and make a backup because deleting the business from the sync server will delete it plus all the backups held online.

Once you've done this you'll find the business can be downloaded.

    All the best,

    Mathew
