I am trying to get past the demo and put in my own accounts and customers to see If I like this. I am used to quicken. It will not let me enter my customers once I have put in their information. My understanding is I have 250 free entries to be sure I like it, but I can't get past the beginning. I think I would like it if I could get started!

    Hi Marti,

There isn't a limit on number of customers, are you having trouble saving each customer? The only limit is the number of transactions, which is where you'd enter the monetary amounts.

You should be able to add customers easily, just tap on Accounts, then you should find a + button at the top of the list. Use this to add a new account, just set the category to customer.

The app comes with 120 transactions, and if you have other businesses (like perhaps the demosys example business), these count against your limit. So try out the app using the demo business first, then delete the business before you start using it for real.

    All the best,

    Mathew

I can enter the customer, date etc, but when I push save nothing happens. I have tried saving under purchases as well.

    Is the save button disabled?

The save button is disabled if the transaction is not valid or cannot be saved. There are a few reasons why the save button might be disabled (greyed out).

    • You haven't set any of the fields yet (so there is nothing new to be saved)
    • The date isn't valid (try setting it to 'today')
    • The to and from accounts are not set. For double entry, there should be two accounts
    • The to and from accounts are the same. You can't create a transaction from one account to itself
    • If there is an amount set as VAT, the VAT account must be set too
