Keeping records
In Canada we need to keep a history of our work for 7 years In
case we get audited as a proof that what the accountant filed was
real.
Do I need to pay for the online storage for the 7 years or can I
just save a back up file on my computer?
The reason I ask is because I might not have an iPad in 5 years, so
where did all the information I input to the program go?

No, you don't need to pay for storage. You can just send a backup file by email from the device regularly. As long as you keep it, you'll be pretty safe.
