Easy Invoice and Easy Books
Hi - I use Easybooks for lots of clients. One particular client has just started using Easy Invoices for a new business he has. Can I sync that into my easybooks so I don't have to re-key the invoices he's created (I don't want him to have access to easybooks, just invoice). I hope this makes sense.
How do I go about it?
Thanks,

Hi Lynsay,
Yes absolutely. It works the same as for Easy Books in fact. I originally thought selling a dedicated invoice app would be popular enough to top up the revenue but people don't seem willing to pay for invoicing. Since it wasn't bringing in much anyway, I recently took the decision to make the app free for everyone. My hope is that it will pay for the development time with the few people who decide to use the sync service.
If your client uses Easy Invoice and registers for an Online Sync account they can turn on sync in just the same way. They can then login to https://sync.easybooksapp.com and use their sharing tab to share their business with you. They will need to know your username or email. Once they've done this you should see their business name appear in the list available when you use the "Add new business" function in Easy Books. They will only see invoice-relaed information in their copy of Easy Invoice but the data structure is exactly the same and the app will sync with Easy Books (both ways). You can make changes to anything they've entered and they'll receive the update in Easy Invoice. Likewise, if they add further sales entries, you will see these appear in Easy Books.
I think it represents a good model for bookkeepers, but I'd be very interested in your opinion.
All the best,
Mathew

Hi Mathew, another question for you….I’m working from a new Ipad Air which has ios8, but I don’t seem to be able to sync my accounts when trying to add a new business from another device? I’m getting a message saying ‘processing’ after the company name, then when I go in to the Online syncing section, it says there’s an error and to reupload or redownload – I’ve attached a couple of screen shots.
Is this a known issue with ios8 or Easybooks perhaps? Please help
Kind regards

Hi Lynsay,
The first major updates to iOS from Apple are always a bit flakey in my experience. I looked up the error and found this from other developers: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/25372318/error-domain-nsurlerror....
It looks like a network issue, but people are saying it was okay on iOS 7 and has become more unreliable. I've seen this on my iPad too, and using Safari to browse to https://sync.easybooksapp.com did seem to cure it, at least for a while.
The businesses that say "Processing..." are not valid and it means the upload is still happening, or more likely in your case that the upload failed part way through. The servers are still waiting for their data from a device. When uploading, make sure the progress bar goes right to the end and you wait for the "Up to date" message before leaving the sync screen. If this is someone else's business please pass on the message.
I hope Apple won't be too long in releasing the first update to iOS 8, as I expect a lot of bugs will get mopped up in the next one.
Mathew
