Invoice description is wrong
When I print invoices or statements the description does not
show, The description must be entered into the invoice number area
to print it out correctly, a small error that causes major issues
for me, from statements it shows invoice numbers instead of
descriptions
Customer need to see work details on the invoice and statement. So
I must enter description into invoice number area and then I cannot
get my invoice numbers to show. I don't care about the numbers but
the program is printing backwards from what is on the invoice

Hi Jp,
Thanks for the email. I'm not sure if you're using the feature the way it was designed from what you said. When you enter a sale, the invoice number should be filled out for you, although of course you can change it. This leaves the details field for the text that appears on each line of the invoice.
See http://easybooksapp.com/sales and http://www.easybooksapp.com/customer-invoicing for full details.
All the best,
Mathew

Yes, I understand all that, but when you print the invoice or statement it has invoice number and description backwards. So when I print an invoice the invoice number displays but no description unless I enter the description where the invoice number goes. So in other words my statements all show invoice numbers and no descriptions.
Try this out:
Goto Sales
Enter invoice
Put a description on the description line
Send invoice
Look at invoice
The description does not show.
I must enter description into the invoice number for it to show.
Either way it causes problems between invoices and statements.
Please let me know if you understand, since I bought the app I have reported this a few times
And it gets pushed off as I am using the software wrong,
Thank you j.p

Mathew I am sorry I just tested out my issue the way I do it. The problem is not the invoice it is the statement.
So please follow method from previous email and then create statement and the invoice description does not show.

Have a look at the Demosys example business. There is a customer called "Bad Payers Inc" that does have a statement you can look at. You can then take a look at some of the sales invoices to see if the format matches what you have.

I guess your not listening to what I am saying, even in demosys , the statement should tell you the description of the invoice line details right? It tells you the invoice numbers not the description. How can I send a statement that tells you the details are invoice numbers
The statementent should tell you invoice number and descriptions.. As of now I must print every invoice and mail them separate even in email. I can't perform services and not have the details on the statement.
Sorry but I am now getting frustrated with this and may need to switch ack to quick books
If you can't understand my issue after all my emails please call me, even your demosys company's bad payers statement does not print correctly. On the statement it says description but it shows invoice numbers,
So if I do 5 jobs for the month and bill my customer for the 5 jobs with a statement the customer cannot tell what work was done they can only see the invoice numbers so I must send a invoice for each job.. In the mail you receive 5 different invoices with there descriptions instead of 1 statement with all account activity......... This is starting to make me think you are not looking at what I am saying,
Sorry for being rude but this is a major error for me and I will not continue to use software if this does not work. The statement must show invoice details it has to.

Hi Jp,
I understand your frustration, but the app is working as designed. The invoice number should be displayed, not the detail lines. This is a design decision that I think works for most businesses. If this doesn't suit your business, I can suggest a look at Freshbooks (online) as an alternative.

Fresh books online. I think I will just complain and write bad reviews then and go back to my boring quick books at least the statements print the damn details, how from a business point can you recommend me to another software I have committed 60.oo already and any accounting software shows you the details of the work on statements even junk ones. There is no point to have a statement then. I don't want to switch software and dumbfounded you would tell me that
The statement must show details, not just invoice numbers! This is rediculos

The last thing I wanted to do was upset you. I think apart from this issue you were happy with Easy Books. I get that you've spent 60.00, but the software is working as I designed it. I would love to change it for you, but I'm afraid others would then complain that it isn't what they want. I was only suggesting you could use an alternative for sending your statements, you should still be able to use the app for it's main purpose, that is, bookkeeping. You could also continue to use the invoicing, but I'm totally with you that the statements are not doing what you would like from them.
I hope that doesn't put you off the product, I've spent over two years working on it now and only recently has it started to pay back some of the time I've spent. I hope you can understand why I need to manage the app properly for the benefit of everyone, and I think it would be damaging to simply incorporate changes without thinking of everyone else that the changes would upset.
The reason the statement shows the invoice numbers is that customers should already have these invoices from you. The statement is not intended to describe the work you may have done, the invoice does that. The statement is to show the customer a list of invoices you've sent them, together with any balancing payments you've received from them. People normally use the statements when they want to send a gentle reminder to their customer that the latest payment is running late as it shows the total outstanding balance on their account with you.
All the best,
Mathew

I understand! This hurts me,
It's not about. 60.00. I have invested at least 20 hours into this while switching customers over and all the little crap but I like the software just never seen any programs statement not show both
I might have ten invoices per customer at end of month the statement reflects all account activity instead of mailing you 10 invoices and a statement with the total. A statement should show all activity. What's wrong with invoice numbers and descriptions I don't think others would mind a detailed statement
Your just adding what is needed. Now I must email 10 invoices and hope the customer adds them correctly and there amounts add up correctly
Thanks for your time, I would pay 30 again for this feature it is 100% needed
Next I will need to use quick books pro and remote desktop! I don't want that I like easy books but you must understand I need details on the statements or I am clustered with 10 extra steps and a prayer!
Jp. I will pay again if this would work!

Hey mathew,
Sorry to keep bugging you,
I am playing around with things and found that in the demosys company under bad payers
The statement still says description but it list the invoice number, this was problem from day one. and your demosys companys statement told me there was a description but it prints the invoice number. I know this is a repeat off everything, but your demo company statement is not correct.. I just add my description to the invoice number line anyway but I am finding I need a reference to the invoice by number. I am sorry I am not trying to be rude I am just caught in a tight spot. I will stick by and wait for updates I do love easybooksapp but maybe in the future there could be a way to turn it on, I need it!!!
Thank you.

Wow, been doing my due diligence hoping easy books would work for me. But this issue is a deal breaker for me. No description except on an invoice creating all that extra work and paperwork is to big of a problem for my 2 businesses.

How about a simple fix here. How hard could it be from a programming standpoint, to give users the ability to choose what field shows up. I have written many iOS apps and even more Mac OSx apps and can tell you that the Cocoa frameworks give many tools to do this easily. The app may be functioning as designed, but it's not what the customer wants. Any chance the developer could add a setting that could let the customer choose what field would get printed under the "description" header. Some may want invoice numbers, some may want account names, others (like me and many others) want the description to show up under the "Description" header. Seriously this can't be that hard.

hi,
Please look at the picture, you will see that the "invoice number" in the detail windows" appears in the "Description" column in the listview.
Could you do something for this in a next version ?
Regards
Stéphane
